Imaginary friends are knows for being children’s best friends in their youngest years. They come in all shapes and sizes, can benefit children tremendously through mental wellbeing, enhance their problem-solving skills, coping mechanisms, expand their cognitive development and develop richer narratives.
Growing up, I had my own imaginary friend who helped me overcome a difficult childhood, which is why I always advocated for children's infinite imagination being important for a child's mental and physical development.
Which is why I decided to create and write a story, based on my childhood imaginary friend, to showcase the outstanding benefits imaginary friends can have on children.
The story in this book is written entirely by myself and heavily inspired by The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupéry and the Ballon Rouge movie (1956).

Book
design
This book reveals the magical world of children's imagination through storytelling. Inspired by my childhood imaginary friend, Figment of my Imagination captures childhood innocence, sharing true moments of a five-year-old girl’s life with her imaginary friend. The purpose of this project is to portray how imaginary companions help children cope with trauma and grow.
